H.G. Schlicker and Associates was founded in 1980 by Herbert G. Schlicker, who was the first Registered and Certified Engineering Geologist in Oregon. HGSA has provided the Pacific Northwest with decades of expertise in investigation, permitting, design and construction. Our skills and knowledge include mining, economic, environmental and engineering geology, hydrogeology, site assessments, geotechnics, geophysics and forensic geology.
During Mr. Schlicker’s career with the State of Oregon he authored 33 professional papers and reports describing the significant metropolitan and rural areas throughout the region. These papers have been the foundation for identifying geologic and geotechnical hazards, and for developing land use policies.
Until Mr. Schlicker’s retirement in 1992, J. Douglas Gless, R.G., C.E.G., worked closely with him as Vice President and Principal Engineering Geologist. Since then Mr. Gless has served as HGSA’s Principal, upholding the dependable and qualified professional service our customers have come to expect.
